If you want to improve wildlife habitat, timber value, or forest health - or qualify for cost share funding, a written management plan is the place to start. It maps out your property's current conditions and lays out a practical schedule of activities matched to your goals.

 

Can a forest management plan help me get financial assistance?

 

Yes, as a NRCS-registered Technical Service Provider (TSP), I can write plans that qualify landowners for USDA-NRCS cost share programs like EQIP. These programs can significantly offset the cost of practices like habitat improvement, invasive species control, and forest stand improvement.

 

How much is my timber worth?

 

It depends on species, size, quality, access, and current markets - which is exactly why you shouldn't rely on a buyer's first offer. A professional timber inventory and appraisal establishes fair market value before you negotiate, and competitive bidding typically brings higher prices than accepting a single offer.

 

Someone cut trees on my property without permission. What can I do?

 

This is called a timber trespass, and Kentucky law allows landowners to recover damages. I investigate and document unauthorized cutting - including damage assessment, timber valuation, and mapping as well as provide expert reporting to support legal or insurance claims.
